"I Can't See the Forest Through the Trees" - Windows 2000 Multi-Agency Single Forest
Hand outs
Intended Audience:
This seminar is intended to attract management-level and senior analyst staff from the business and administrative environment as well as from within information services. Particularly, the presentation is designed to give explanation of the business value that can be reaped from joining the statewide forest, the value behind the technical investment, and the role that agency managers can play in making the decisions to participate in the multi-agency single forest.
Abstract of Seminar Contents:
In sync with Governor Locke’s remarks at the 2001 Leadership Day, "making better use of technology," this seminar is intended to educate, inform and demonstrate business value and tangible benefits of being part of the State of Washington Forest.
Over the years, technology has matured and evolved to where sharing resources amongst agencies is finally becoming a reality. The State of Washington has a unique opportunity to share resources not only with the major service agencies OFM, DOP, GA and DIS, but with other government agencies as well. There are many systems, applications, templates, core service modules and routines that can be shared. Today, through the use of Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory, if agencies participate in a single forest, employees can share these resources from each agency. The State of Washington Windows 2000 Deployment Project endeavors to do just that - build a single forest where participating agencies can reap the benefits of shared resources as if it were a single enterprise.
