Welcome to the Information Processing Management Association (IPMA) Forum 2004. As you know, new and innovative technologies are surfacing at a rapid pace. Technology keeps expanding with the "hype" of seamless and straight-forward implementation. For technology professionals, it can be a challenge to "deliver", to meet user expectations and to ensure that technology investments deliver solid business value.

The Forum 2004 agenda includes both national and government speakers who will address the theme "Getting Past the Hype – Delivering Business Value" a model developed by Gartner, Incorporated. I’m sure many of you will identify with the key stages of this model.

Forum 2004 will provide you with opportunities to network and collaborate. Over forty different break-out sessions are scheduled. Topics include: Why do we Still Have Mainframes?, Computer Forensics, Ethics of Technology, Mobile Computing with the Tablet PC, .Net Implementation, Enterprise Application Integration and Self Defending Networks, just to name a few. On both Tuesday and Wednesday, the exhibition hall will showcase corporate sponsors, vendors and their products - offering an opportunity to learn more about advancing technologies and contemporary methodologies.

I hope you have an opportunity to participate in the IPMA Forum 2004.
