IPMA Code of Ethics

To uphold and advance the honor and dignity of my profession, and in keeping with high standards of ethical conduct, I:

• Will respect and protect the dignity of individuals honoring their right to fair consideration in all aspects of employment and to the pursuit of a rewarding career without regard to race, sex. religion, age, national origin, or presence of any physical or mental disability.
• Will foster and apply professional management practices and principles to empower each other to develop our full capability as competent, productive members of the organization.
• Will endeavor to ensure that consideration is given to the human aspects of management plans and decisions.
• Will share my knowledge and time in counseling and development of those pursuing a career in information technology management and will contribute to the development and dissemination of information for the improvement of the profession.
• Will treat as privileged, information accepted in trust.
• Will faithfully respect and apply this Code in the conduct of my professional duties and responsibilities.
• Will ensure that credit is given to those to whom it is due.
• Will inform the IPMA Board of Directors of any possible conflict of interest.
