May 20 Forum Keynote Speaker to be Jim Albert, Interim Director of DIS

Information technology in Washington state government is at a crossroads.

In January, Governor Gregoire confirmed her commitment to governement reform, starting with email and data center shared services; the Legislature is looking for a plan for IT reform and consolidation; and groundbreaking for the state’s new data center begins in June.  Add to that, stimulus money for broadband, along with unprecedented budget challenges, and it makes for an interesting time to be Interim Director of the DIS. Just ask Jim Albert.

In his keynote address, Jim will share the latest information about the outcomes from the latest Legislative session.  He’ll also review the changes and challenges for the Wheeler Project, as well as I.T.’s role in government reform.

Jim Albert will give his keynote presentation at 8:30 am on Wednesday, May 20 in the Saint Martin's Worthington Center in Lacey.
