Mace has over 30 years experience working with information technology organizations in both federal and state government environments.  He began his state service with the Department of Personnel in 1989 and has a solid human resources background as well as extensive technology management experience.  Mace has served as the CIO for Corrections, the CTO for Agriculture, as an Assistant Director at the Department of Personnel, and as a management consultant at the Office of Financial Management.  His experience also includes working as the mainframe operations manager at the Department of Information Services.  Prior to joining the state, Mace had a long career working within the federal government as a technology manager at several locations overseas and in Washington DC.  

Mace was elected to the IPMA Board of Directors in 2007.  He has served on several committees and is currently the Chair of the IPMA.
